WASHINGTON, March 22 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce initiated countervailing duty investigations to determine if producers of fatty acids in Indonesia and Malaysia receive unfair subsidies.
The decision follows petitions filed Jan. 28, 2026, by Vantage Specialty Chemicals Inc., Deerfield, Illinois, a domestic producer. The petitioner alleges that the Indonesia and Malaysia provide subsidies that allow exporters to sell products at prices that injure the U.S. industry.
