WASHINGTON, March 18 -- British Ambassador James Kariuki, deputy permanent representative to the United Nations, announced $20.65 million in emergency humanitarian support for the region during a U.N. Security Council meeting in New York. Speaking at the summit, Kariuki highlighted that $650,000 of those funds specifically assist vulnerable women and girls impacted by the crisis in Syria.
