WASHINGTON, March 18 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration has received a petition from Drone Amplified Inc., Lincoln, Nebraska, to perform avalanche mitigation operations using an unmanned aircraft system.
The petitioner seeks to use the Freefly Alta X aircraft, weighing less than 55 lbs. including payload, to drop charges to trigger controlled avalanches.
