British Ambassador Kariuki Urges U.N. to Resist Global Rollback of Women's Rights

WASHINGTON, March 17 -- British Ambassador James Kariuki, charge d'affaires at the United Nations, delivered a joint statement on behalf of 31 member states at the United Nations in New York. Speaking at the U.N. Commission on the Status of Women, Kariuki warned that progress toward gender equality is stalling and reversing due to a global backlash.
