WASHINGTON, March 17 -- New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced that the city will reduce speed limits to 15 MPH at all 2,300 eligible school zones across the five boroughs by the end of his first term. Speaking at Flushing International High School, Mamdani stated that 800 additional locations will see lower limits this year, bringing the total to 1,300 by the end of 2026.
