WASHINGTON, March 18 (TNSFR) -- The Field Museum, Chicago, Illinois, intends to repatriate 270 cultural items to the Hopi Tribe of Arizona. This action follows requirements set by the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act regarding objects of cultural patrimony.
The items, which include ceramic vessels, bone awls, shell objects, stone mortars and jewelry were acquired by the museum in 1901.
