WASHINGTON, Feb. 26 -- The British Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and Jan Marian, permanent representative of the Czech Republic to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, delivered a joint statement in Vienna demanding a transparent investigation into the death of Alexei Navalny in a Russian penal colony. Speaking on behalf of 17 nations, Marian held Russian authorities solely responsible for the inhuman treatment and death of the opposition leader.
