American University Scholars Examine Intersection of Race and Gender in Shalleck Lecture

WASHINGTON, Feb. 27 -- Legal scholars gathered at the American University Washington College of Law to launch a lecture series dedicated to feminist legal theory and the legacy of professor emerita Ann Shalleck. The inaugural event featured Dorothy E. Roberts, a 2024 MacArthur fellow and George A. Weiss University professor of law and sociology at the University of Pennsylvania, who presented an analysis of how racial and gender hierarchies influence U.S. legal and social structures.
