EPA Initiates Cleanup Study for Alaska Native Lands

WASHINGTON, Feb. 24 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency launched a programmatic environmental assessment to evaluate the effects of a program designed to help Alaska native corporations and tribes address contaminated lands. This initiative, known as the Contaminated Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act Lands Assistance Program, provides funding to investigate and clean up pollution present on lands at the time they were conveyed under the 1971 settlement act.
