Oakland Museum of California Intends to Repatriate 89 Hawaiian Cultural Items to Hui Iwi Kuamo`o

WASHINGTON, Feb. 24 (TNSFR) -- The Oakland Museum of California plans to return 89 cultural items to Native Hawaiian organizations under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act, according to a notice published by the National Park Service within the U.S. Department of the Interior. The collection includes four unassociated funerary objects and 85 sacred objects that museum officials determined are culturally affiliated with Hui Iwi Kuamoo.
