Tennessee Department of Environment & Conservation Intends to Repatriate Human Remains That Show Cultural Affiliation With 8 Native American Tribes

WASHINGTON, Feb. 25 (TNSFR) -- The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation Division of Archaeology (TDEC-DOA) intends to repatriate the human remains of at least three individuals and associated funerary objects to one of eight Native American tribes. This decision follows a completed inventory of materials recovered from site 40MT43, also known as Dunbar Cave, in Montgomery County, Tennessee.
