WASHINGTON, Feb. 20 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of the Interior Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement announced a final rule to amend the Federal Lands Cooperative Agreement with West Virginia. This update modifies an agreement first adopted in Feb. 1984, which allows the state to regulate surface coal mining and reclamation on federal lands.
