BIA Certifies Elem Indian Colony Liquor Ordinance

WASHINGTON, Feb. 18 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of the Interior Bureau of Indian Affairs has certified the Liquor Control Ordinance for the Elem Indian Colony of Pomo Indians of the Sulphur Bank Rancheria, California, establishing a legal framework for the possession, sale and manufacture of alcohol within tribal lands.

This measure allows the tribe to regulate liquor transactions on its reservation and trust lands in accordance with federal law and California state regulations. . . .
