N.Y. Gov. Hochul Announces Release of $128 Million in Federal Funding for Gateway Tunnel After Trump Loses in Court

WASHINGTON, Feb. 18 -- Gov. Kathy Hochul, D-New York, issued a statement announcing that the Trump administration has released $98 million in previously withheld funds and an additional $30 million in reimbursements for the Gateway Tunnel project following court victories. Hochul said the Gateway Development Commission will notify contractors to prepare to resume construction next week, allowing about 1,000 union workers to return to work.
