WASHINGTON, Feb. 12 -- Brandeis University indicates that premature visual exposure may disrupt the essential neural pathways the brain constructs to facilitate sight. According to study findings published in the journal eLife, the brain appears to operate under different developmental rules during the final trimester of pregnancy and immediately following full-term birth, a period when infants are typically first introduced to visual stimuli.
