WASHINGTON, Feb. 12 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is proposing to approve a limited maintenance plan for the New York metropolitan area to ensure continued air quality compliance through 2034. The plan, submitted by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation on Oct. 15, 2024, addresses federal standards for fine particulate matter, specifically particles 2.5 micrometers or smaller.
