WASHINGTON, Feb. 6 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has proposed to grant a site-specific treatability variance to U.S. Ecology Nevada Inc. for the treatment and disposal of elemental mercury waste at its facility in Beatty, Nevada. The proposal addresses a critical imbalance in the mercury market where the supply of reclaimed mercury from mining and industrial processes significantly exceeds commercial demand.
