Caltrans Completes Inventory of 354 Funerary Objects Affiliated With 3 Wintun Nations

WASHINGTON, Feb. 4 (TNSFR) -- The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has completed an inventory of 354 associated funerary objects and determined a cultural affiliation with the Cachil DeHe Band of Wintun Indians of Colusa Indian Community, Kletsel Dehe Wintun Nation and Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation.

The objects, which include lithics, baked clay, battered stone, a stone bead and fire-affected rock, were excavated between 1999 and 2001 during work along Highway 29 in Nap . . .
