EPA Confirms San Joaquin Valley Meets Federal Air Standards for Fine Particulate Matter

WASHINGTON, Jan. 29 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has announced that the San Joaquin Valley in California has met the 1997 annual federal air quality standards for fine particulate matter.

The decision relies on air quality monitoring data collected between 2022 and 2024. Additionally, preliminary data from January through October 2025 indicates the area continues to maintain these lower pollution levels.
