NYC Mayor Mamdani Appoints Three Commissioners to Lead City Agencies

NEW YORK, Jan. 28 -- New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced the appointment of three agency heads during a news briefing at City Hall on January 27, 2026. After providing updates on emergency "Code Blue" protocols intended to protect unhoused New Yorkers from lethal cold, the mayor named Sharun Goodwin as commissioner of the Department of Probation.

Mamdani also appointed Yume Kitasei as commissioner of the Department of Citywide Administrative Services and Lisa Gar . . .
