University of Florida Museum of Natural History Completes Inventory Of Funerary Objects Affiliated With Seminole Tribe

WASHINGTON, Jan. 28 (TNSFR) -- The University of Florida Museum of Natural History announced the completion of an inventory of 28 unassociated funerary objects from St. Lucie County, Florida. The findings establish a cultural affiliation between the items and the Seminole Tribe, the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians and the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma.

The collection consists of 28 pottery sherds, including one check-stamped sherd, one bark-like pattern sherd, and 26 sand-tempered sherds. . . .
