Wilson Museum Completes Inventory of Sacred Object Affiliated With Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe

WASHINGTON, Jan. 28 (TNSFR) -- The Wilson Museum, Castine, Maine, announced it has completed an inventory for a sacred item and intends to repatriate the object to the Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe. The decision follows a determination of cultural affiliation made under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act.

The cultural item is a wooden medicine man's mask originating from the North Pacific Coast. Records indicate the mask was acquired at an unknown date . . .
