WASHINGTON, Jan. 22 -- New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced a final rule from the Department of Consumer and Worker Protection banning hidden "junk fees" for hotel stays. The regulation requires hotels to provide all-in pricing transparency for destination, resort and hospitality fees, while also becoming the first in the nation to mandate transparency for credit card holds and deposits.
