Tennessee Department of Environment & Conservation to Repatriate Funerary Objects to Quapaw Nation

WASHINGTON, Jan. 18 (TNSFR) -- The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation Division of Archaeology (TDEC-DOA) intends to return a collection of ancestral artifacts to the Quapaw Nation. This decision follows the mandates of the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act regarding the return of cultural items to affiliated Indian Tribes.
