WASHINGTON, Jan. 12 -- Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced at a press conference at Parliament House in Canberra that Australia will hold a National Day of Mourning on Thursday, Jan. 22, themed "Light will Win - a Gathering of Unity and Remembrance," with flags flown at half-mast on Commonwealth buildings nationwide.
