WASHINGTON, Jan. 11 (TNSFR) -- The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the U.S. Department of Justice are withdrawing a joint statement regarding the use of immigration status in lending decisions. Effective January 12, 2026, the withdrawal reverses a position established on October 2023, concerning the Equal Credit Opportunity Act.
