WASHINGTON, Jan. 8 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Energy Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy has amended its regulations to comply with a federal court decision that vacated procedures for calculating the petroleum-equivalent fuel economy of electric vehicles. This technical amendment, effective January 8, 2026, restores previous regulatory text after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit struck down a March 29, 2024, rule.
