Museum of the Cherokee People Identifies Ancestral Remains, Artifacts for Repatriation

WASHINGTON, Jan. 7 (TNSFR) -- The Museum of the Cherokee People has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects in compliance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act.

The museum identified the ancestral remains of four individuals and 12 lots of funerary items. Following consultation with tribal nations, a cultural connection was established between these individuals and four specific Indian Tribes.
