Mercyhurst University Identifies Native American Ancestry For Repatriation of Ohio Remains

WASHINGTON, Jan. 7 (TNSFR) -- Mercyhurst University has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act.
The process identified one individual of Native American ancestry and two funerary objects, including a possible hive and a lot of soil. Based on geographical data and acquisition history, a cultural connection exists between these remains and dozens of Indian Tribes.
