WASHINGTON, Jan. 7 (TNSFR) -- The California State Department of Transportation has finished an inventory of 28,879 associated funerary objects in compliance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act. These items were recovered from Yolo County during archaeological work for a safety improvements project. Following consultation, the agency identified a cultural connection between these objects and three specific Wintun nations.
