WASHINGTON, Jan. 6 -- Vistra Corp., Irving, Texas, announced that it has executed definitive agreements to acquire Cogentrix Energy, a move that adds approximately 5,500 megawatts of modern natural gas generation capacity to its portfolio. The acquisition, valued at a net purchase price of approximately $4.0 billion, includes 10 facilities located across major power regions, including PJM, ISO New England, and ERCOT.
