New York Public Library to Repatriate Ancestral Remains to Seneca Nation of Indians

WASHINGTON, Dec. 23 (TNSFR) -- The New York Public Library has announced plans to repatriate Native American human remains to the Seneca Nation of Indians after completing an inventory under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act.

The inventory identified human remains representing at least one individual, consisting of a lock of hair attributed to Philip Konjockoty, described in historical records as a Seneca Indian who was 109 years old at the time of examinati . . .
