Forest Service to Return Ancestral Remains to Choctaw Tribes

WASHINGTON, Dec. 22 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service announced plans to return the remains of three individuals and 10 boxes of artifacts to Native American tribes with ancestral ties to the Mississippi Delta.

This decision follows the guidelines of the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act, a federal law governing the return of cultural items and human remains to lineal descendants and tribes.
