National Highway Traffic Safety Administration: Ford Seeks Exemption for Transit Van Lighting Issue

WASHINGTON, Dec. 16 (TNSFR) -- Ford Motor Co., Dearborn, Michigan, has submitted a petition to the U.S. Department of Transportation National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to declare a safety standard noncompliance on thousands of its transit vans as "inconsequential."

Ford determined that approximately 14,967 model year 2020-2025 Ford transit vehicles, equipped with High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps and an overall width of 80 inches or more, do not complete . . .
