WASHINGTON, Dec. 16 (TNSFR) -- Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Federal Reserve System and the U.S. Department of the Treasury Office of the Comptroller of the Currency have issued final rules increasing the threshold amount for loans exempt from certain appraisal requirements, adjusting for inflation as mandated by the Truth in Lending Act (TILA). The exemption for "higher-priced mortgage loans" (HPMLs) will rise from $33,500 to $34,200.
