HUD Extends Comment Deadline for Reverse Mortgage Program Review

WASHINGTON, Dec. 10 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has re-opened the comment period for its request for information (RFI) concerning the future of the Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) and HECM mortgage-backed securities (HMBS) programs.

HUD originally published the RFI, titled "Future of the HECM and HMBS Programs and Opportunities for Innovation in Accessing Home Equity," in the Federal Register on Oct. 2, 2025.
