WASHINGTON, Dec. 9 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Railroad Administration received a petition from Canadian National Railway Co., Montreal, to change a safety regulation regarding train brake systems.

The railway company is asking for a waiver of compliance from certain provisions within the Federal railroad safety regulations, specifically related to multiple air-source braking technology on freight trains.
