WASHINGTON, Dec. 4 (TNSFR) -- The Federal Trade Commission has accepted a proposed consent agreement with Illuminate Education Inc., Irvine, California, settling alleged violations of federal law that prohibits unfair or deceptive acts or practices.

The settlement follows a proposed complaint alleging that the California-based software company failed to employ reasonable security measures, leading to a network breach that exposed the personal information of millions of students.
