NHTSA Grants Exemption for Michelin North America Tires Missing Load Range Letter

WASHINGTON, Nov. 30 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Transportation National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has granted a petition from Michelin North America Inc. (MNA), Greenville, South Carolina, concerning a noncompliance issue with replacement tires.

The tire manufacturer determined that approximately 160 Michelin X Multi D+ replacement tires, manufactured in 2019, failed to fully comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 119.
