WASHINGTON, Nov. 30 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Transportation National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has granted a petition from Michelin North America Inc. (MNA), Greenville, South Carolina, to be exempted from a recall requirement regarding a noncompliance in certain tires.

The petition concerned a marking error on approximately 14,047 Michelin X Works D tires that do not fully comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 119.
