CRANSTON, RI - On January 16, 1943, Henry Ambrose Maynard of Pawtucket left his job with the New Haven Railroad and enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Force. Sergeant Maynard served as a radio mechanic for the 93 rd Bombardment Squadron in the Pacific during World War II.
