Australian P.M. Albanese Confirms COP Negotiation Role and Defends Climate Policy

WASHINGTON, Nov. 20 -- Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, in a radio interview on ABC Perth, confirmed that Australia and the Pacific achieved a favourable settlement regarding the hosting of the COP31 Climate Conference. The prime minister stated that to achieve consensus and prevent the conference from being moved to Bonn, Germany, Turkiye will host the conference and hold the COP presidency, but Minister Chris Bowen and Australia will serve as COP President for Negotiations.
