WASHINGTON, Nov. 13 (TNSFR) -- The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has proposed to amend rules related to the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA) to clarify requirements for credit institutions. The proposal addresses how creditors should treat applicants, discouragement and the offering of special purpose credit programs. The changes are intended to facilitate compliance with the ECOA by providing clarification on the statutory obligations.
