EPA Approves Portion of Utah's Ozone Transport Plan

WASHINGTON, Nov. 8 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has approved a portion of Utah's state implementation plan (SIP) submission aimed at addressing the interstate transport of air pollution for the 2008 8-hour ozone national ambient air quality standard (NAAQS). This action specifically addresses the requirement, known as "prong 2," which prohibits emissions originating from within Utah from interfering with the maintenance of the ozone NAAQS in other states.
