WASHINGTON, Nov. 6 -- Pacific Gas and Electric Co. (PG&E), Oakland, California, has launched a complimentary in-home program to help customers prepare their gas appliances for safe use during the colder winter months. The utility is offering free gas safety checks to reduce the risk of carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning within the home.
