WASHINGTON, Oct. 28 -- New York Mayor Eric Adams unveiled a country's first pilot program to integrate public schools directly with New York City 911 emergency services at the Spring Creek Campus of Brooklyn on Oct. 27, 2025. The initiative, spearheaded by chief technology officer Matt Fraser, utilizes fixed buttons and wireless lanyards to activate an Emergency Alert System (EAS) capable of initiating a direct 911 response and hard lockdown in under 10 seconds.
