WASHINGTON, Oct. 25 -- David Smith, United Kingdom special envoy for freedom of religion or belief, delivered a statement at the United Nations Third Committee meeting in New York on Oct. 24, 2025, declaring that the right to freedom of religion or belief (FoRB) is central to the UK's human rights approach. Smith asserted that upholding FoRB is essential for open, stable, and prosperous societies and is integral to addressing global challenges like conflict and migration.
