Homeland Security Waives Laws for Border Barrier Construction in New Mexico, Texas

WASHINGTON, Oct. 18 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has announced a determination to waive specific laws, regulations and other legal requirements to expedite the construction of barriers and roads near the international border in New Mexico and Texas. The decision applies to all contracting actions needed for the construction of physical barriers and roads in the El Paso Sector, an area identified as having a high rate of unlawful entry.
