WASHINGTON, Sept. 24 -- John A. Squires, under secretary of Commerce for intellectual property and director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, signed two patents at a ceremony at USPTO Headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia. The patents, one in distributed ledger/crypto technologies and the other in medical diagnostics, were the first to be issued on his watch.
