CFTC Withdraws Guidance on Voluntary Carbon Credit Derivative Contracts

WASHINGTON, Sept. 14 (TNSFR) -- The Commodity Futures Trading Commission is withdrawing its final guidance on the listing of voluntary carbon credit derivative contracts. The guidance, which was published on October 15, 2024, was intended to assist designated contract markets with the listing and design of these contracts. CFTC has determined the guidance offers limited value to designated contract markets and does not create any compliance obligations or product listing standards.
